Women of Grace Leadership Core Group was founded in 2006, as our group studies led us to a deeper study of Spiritual Gifts. We found ministries are discovered because God gives gifts, talents and resources to people. It is through people that God's plan unfolds, as a ministry is developed around the gifts of a person and not the person fitting into a position or minsitry. Taking a closer look at Paul, we can see that he was effective in the ministry he was called to, because he ministered through the gifts God had given to him. (2 Timothy 1:6)
The key to a successful ministry is when people understand their gifts and their abilities and are permitted to use them. It is then that we see an effective ministry with a fulfillment that only God can do. Knowing what our gifts are, is not enough. An effective ministry results as we yield way to the supernatural [empowerment] of the Holy Spirit. He is the means in which a ministry can fulfill the call and purpose that God has set in motion. Our natural ability or talent should never be mistaken for the spiritual gift from the Holy Spirit. He does use our ablilites, but they are not the gift. A Spiritual Gift is just that, from the Spirit of God. (1Corinthians, chapter 12)
In light of these truths, we began a course of testing, which involved Spiritual Gift analysis, personality profiles, a motivational survey, and leadership tools to better equip the leaders as they began to follow the vision God had given them. We began to see ministries taking root from our core group and branching off, as we prayed and sought God's wisdom and direction. We are excited at what God is still doing within our group and want to share in the excitement of God moving in others as well. Our purpose of leadership is to develop future leaders from within our own group.
